What is Easy Mushroom Pepper Fry?
Mushroom pepper fry that easy to cook, takes little time and needs only a few ingredients. The main spice powder is crushed black pepper and you can taste it in the mushroom. Well, I am not a big fan of black pepper powder as a spice but I love those recipes where it works and do not overpower. I love Black Pepper Tofu ,Kesaria Paneer Kali Mirch / Saffron Flavored Black Pepper Paneer. Just like those recipes, this Easy Mushroom pepper fry is also a lovely recipe.
What Ingredients are needed?
Button Mushroom/Baby Bella Mushrom- They have a mild flavor so really absorb the peppery spices. Aromatics- ginger garlic paste. Chopped garlic and curry leaves. Spices- Black mustard seeds, Dry red chili, asafoetida powder, turmeric Powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, crushed black pepper powder, and salt. Fresh cilantro for garnish.
How to cook?
Take a pan with oil. Heat it and add black mustard seeds, dry red chili, and asafoetida powder. When it starts splattering add curry leaves and stir. Add chopped garlic and ginger garlic paste. Furthermore, add turmeric powder, red chili powder, crushed black pepper powder, cumin powder, and coriander powder. Stir them to mix all the spices. Now add sliced mushroom to the wok /pan. Stir them once and if you think that spices are sticking to the pan, add 2 tbsp of water. Add salt and mix. Cook it covered till the mushroom releases all the water. Cook everything till the mushroom is cooked and coated with all the spices. Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve with paratha, roti, or rice.
Can we store it?
You can keep it in the refrigerator for up to three days in a Refrigerator-safe container. Do not store it after you reheat it. Storing them in single serving container is always advisable.
