What is Korean Quinoa?
Korean Quinoa is a vegan quinoa fried rice with Korean flavor. I have used the robust flavors of Korean sauces /Spices and vegetables suited for Asian flavors. It is a delicious vegan quinoa bowl.
Ingredients Needed to make Korean quinoa?
Quinoa- there are mainly two types of quinoa sold in grocery stores. One is tri-color quinoa, and the other one is white quinoa. I always prefer organic quinoa to get the most benefit from this grain. Use whatever you like most or are available at the time. Vegetables- Use vegetables of your choice, but keep the selection limited to Asian because it will provide you with the most authentic flavor. I have used colored peppers, Edamame, broccoli, carrots, and many scallions. Tofu/Paneer- Add any of these for extra protein, according to your preference. Aromatics- Onion and garlic are the heroes in this recipe. Condiments- Sesame oil, Avocado oil, Gochugaru (Korean red chili flakes) Dark Soy Sauce, Gochujang, Crushed Black pepper. Garnish - Lime juice and lots of fresh scallion.
Can I use rice instead of Quinoa?
Yes. That’s an obvious answer. Replace quinoa with white rice or brown rice. It all depends on your preference and choice.
Is this a gluten-free recipe?
Yes. Quinoa does not contain gluten, and vegetables are devoid of it too. I usually prefer to use gluten-free sauce, so it’s best that you read all the labels on the bottle and use only gluten-free ones.
Can I use pre-cooked quinoa?
Absolutely!! Pre-cooked quinoa saves you time and energy, so better go for it if you are crunching on time.
